REL has been recognised as one of the top 10 UK Best Workplaces™ by Great Place to Work®.  This years’ accreditation see’s REL placing 6th of all Large Workplaces (251 – 1000 employees), up 1 place from 7th in 2019, maintaining accredited status for six consecutive years and setting the benchmark for colleague engagement in the field sales and marketing industry.

After achieving Laureate status at the 2019 awards, we are delighted to have maintained accredited status in 2020 taking us one step closer to our goal of Great Place to Work® Master status.

There are two elements to determining the ranking: a Trust Index Survey® of all employees and a Culture Audit® of our practices and policies.  We are delighted that, once again, our employees have recognised the workplace culture at REL via survey and that our HR and leadership practices, polices and approaches have been recognised by Great Place to Work® through the audit.

Why, you may ask, do REL put so much effort into people engagement?  The answer is simple and clear; a whole raft of independently published evidence shows that organisations with high levels of trust and engagement deliver better, typically returning twice the net income, vs. those businesses which have low levels of people engagement.

Engaged colleagues also take less sick leave, are less likely to leave, contribute more ideas to improve performance and act as advocates for the organisation, its products and services.  So, it’s hardly surprising that as a people business, REL puts engagement at the heart of everything it does.

Stephen Gordon, REL Managing Director, said:

We work hard to create a culture that values our people and is a place where everyone, in any role, can thrive, develop and build their career.  Gaining Great Place to Work® accreditation validates our approach and is another success that we can share in with our people, something we are exceptionally grateful for at this time.  We have now held accreditation for six years and our ambitions don’t stop there.  We believe in listening to our people and we will continue this open, honest communication to ensure REL remains a Great Place to Work® for years to come and whilst the current Coronavirus crisis is a challenge, we also see it as an opportunity to strengthen the trust and engagement of our people by doing everything we can to support our colleagues through these unprecedented times.

We are motivated to provide a workplace that has trust at its centre and that empowers our people to win for our customers. Put simply, we try every day to create an environment where people come to work because they want to, not because they have to.
